PawnHop Learn
Privacy and your choices
Updated 7 October 2026. This notice explains the public PawnHop Learn library at learn.pawnhop.com and Google advertising and consent choices on both learn.pawnhop.com and the separate public chess service at play.pawnhop.com. For account and game processing, read the public chess privacy notice. Member accounts and private training on pawnhop.com have a separate private-service privacy notice.
Reading the library
No account is required. The library does not connect to game or training APIs and does not receive either playing service’s host-only session cookie. We do not install a separate analytics tracker in the library. The web infrastructure processes IP addresses and request information to deliver pages and maintain the service. The library stores your optional light or dark theme preference in your browser.
The separate public chess service
play.pawnhop.com uses its own accounts, game data and a necessary host-only session cookie for a guest or signed-in player. Its usernames, profiles, ratings, public games and game chat can be visible to other people. Those accounts and sessions are separate from the member and training service on pawnhop.com. Do not post passwords, contact details or private training information in public chat. The public chess privacy notice describes that service’s account, game and device-storage processing.
Advertising and Google
When advertising is activated, clearly labelled Google display ads may appear after learning guides and in a separate column on eligible wide desktop public-game pages. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses and information about the page to deliver, personalise and measure ads, limit frequency, and prevent fraud. These partners may collect information directly in your browser. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s advertising and cookie information. An advertisement is not a recommendation or endorsement by the PawnHop team.
Consent and privacy settings
Google’s consent platform can run on eligible guides and wide desktop public-game pages before advertising is activated, and stores your privacy choices in cookies. Where required, Google’s certified consent management platform presents choices before advertising proceeds. You can accept, decline or manage the options it offers. For European choices, use “Privacy choices” or Google’s “Privacy and cookie settings” link on a page where the consent platform runs to revisit your decision. This notice and the public chess privacy document run no advertising or consent-message tag, and can be read without making a consent decision. You can also use Google My Ad Center to manage Google ad personalisation and your browser settings to manage cookies. Browser settings do not replace a consent choice.
US privacy options
Where applicable, Google’s advertising consent platform provides opt-out options for the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising. Use its “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on an eligible guide or public-game page to access the options available for your region. This is separate from the European consent control.
Children and private information
The public library is intended for a general audience. Do not send private training notes, financial information, passwords or children’s personal information when reporting an issue.
